Ashanti's Mom Is Mad And Talking

Ashanti's mom and manager is a little mad to say the least that her daughter's record was broken by Susan Boyle's first album, If you ask me it's just a way to defend her client and daughter. In light of the news coming out that her daughter has a reality show coming out, people basically told it like it was (calling her a d-list, a hasbeen, and saying this will be the nail in her already died career's coffin).

She Had This To Say:

Speaking to WENN, Tina that she was happy that Scot star Susan has done so well – but felt a bit bitter about the whole episode, because of how hard Ashanti has worked to get to where she is now.She said: It’s a double-edge sword… We were happy for her (Boyle) but Ashanti held onto that record for eight years and that was a big feat to accomplish with the music industry the way it is.

“This is my personal opinion: people wanna be successful and they’re gonna take whatever route that they can. At the end of the day, before Ashanti blew up in 2002, it took me nine years of struggling with three record deals that failed. It was a struggle, it was hard, but it built character.”

She continued: “I’m not gonna knock anyone who has their hustle, and that’s what I’m calling it… It’s a little bit different, but we’re blessed to be where we are. Ashanti’s talent speaks for itself. In the next year or two we’ll be looking to break other records.

I'll say sorry now, this is the real problem with the industry. Though she has improved as of late, her vocal are garbage. And yes I'm saying there garbage simply because their are PLENTY of female singers on youtube that can blow her out the water. I don't even have to mention the obvious names that can end her career IF it came to that. See this is the true problem, she ain't the only and certainly not the first to achieve success without being able to sing a lick. Nice girl and all, and if I knew her personally it would only help to make me want her to be more successful. But at the same time it's killing the integrity of the industry. Which is more important, for her to be a rose in concrete, or keeping the industry to only reflect the cream of the crop? Back in the day we had names like, Patti, Whitney and Diana to name a few. Now we have Rihanna, Ciara, Keri and Cassie (to name a few) that have had much success and they can't even sing, not to mention hold a candle to the first set of names. And though I was very aware of her record, I guess I suppressed that piece of information. But now here we go, and I remember now my Hollywood peeps...uhh
(And it's not even enough to release so called real music and real artist, cuz the masses don't even pay that music any attention)

love you tho...just not your singing...

Diva Show Down: The Results Are In

So the numbers are in kids. Gather 'round and be quiet as I read Them to you. Someone that everyone knew was gonna win did win the special #1 spot. Does anyone know who that is...Ok I'll stop talking like a kindergarten teacher LOL.

Britain's Got Talent's Susan Boyle was the lucky lady that garnered the #1 spot this week. Proving the early estimates were correct, she sold ova 670k of her debut album "I Dream A Dream".
Even though he had an much complained about performance at the AMAs (which I did post here), even that couldn't stop him from gathering some pretty good numbers for his level of American Idol fame. Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" came in at #3 with 198k sold.
I think there is at lease one person singing "Gaga, Oh La La", and with 144k people sing the same, that's a good thing. Lady Gaga clocks in at 144k sold placing the "Bad Romance" singer's album "The Fame Monster"at #7 on the charts.
While Shakira disappoints with the #15 spot with only 89k.
With all the controversy and drama following this girl, this can't be good news for the "Hard" singer. Rihanna's "Rated R" placed at #5 with a disappointing 180k sold. I could go on forever about why but you already know. (maybe in another post)SMH

"Congrats" and "Sorrys" and around to those who deserve.

What Do You Think? Whose If Any Album Did You Buy?
