Kelly's Team Begs

Kelly Rowland’s label Universal Motown seems to be begging pulling out all the stops for the video for "Commander" her next lead single.
As well as pumping very little their own funds into the video, the label are seeking out top brands to feature their products in the clip.

KELLY ROWLAND is seeking a new partner for her latest music video – the singer’s reps have sent out mass emails urging big brands to appear in the promo.

The former Destiny’s Child star is following the record industry’s latest craze of teaming up with famous companies to cover the cost of music videos.

Her reps at Universal Motown are on the hunt for marketing executives to pay for their products to appear in the promo for the debut single from Rowland’s new record – her first since parting ways with ex-manager Mathew Knowles and former label Columbia Records.

The email reads, “We are currently seeking brands who want to partner with us for the upcoming (Grammy-winning, platinum-selling) Kelly Rowland music video for the first single off of (sic) her new album.

“We are primed for an outstanding project. This will be a video that is serviced around the world.”

Seems pretty tacky to beg via the net for this. Artist do it all the time, just not so publicly while in the planning stages of it all...

Kelly Readys New Single

It has been confirmed that Grammy award winner is set to premiere the first international single from her hotly anticipated new album this weekend at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. The track, which was penned by Rico Love and produced by David Guetta, has been confirmed to be titled "Commander". She is set to unveil the track in performance form at the event, and is currently in rehearsals in Los Angeles.

Kelly Rowland Does Mardis Gras 2010

Kelly Rowland hit the stage at the Gay & Lesbian Mardis Gras 2010 event in Syndey, Australia. The "Like This" singer performed her latest single "When Loves Takes Over" with DJ David Guetta. She had a lot of bells and whistles that were pretty cool to see and she sounded pretty Hollywood as well. It wasn't perfect, but I'm starting to think that this is all we can expect from her. Rowland’s new album hits stores soon.

Kelly spoke in a recent interview about the relationship of the girls of Destiny's Child...

When you think about the history of girl groups – I won’t say all, but some – which are the stories we always hear about? Some aren’t the best-ending situations,” she says. “But with Destiny’s Child, we did a great job of supporting each other and being there and still remaining close, so that’s what I’m most proud of us for.”
Despite her solo success, Rowland is philosophical about the possibility of a Destiny’s Child reunion. “Right now it’s not our number-one topic of conversation when we see each other, you know, but I think the most important thing is our love and support for each other.”

Kelly's B-Day Redo

Kelly Rowland celebrated her birthday in Vegas at Club Haze. So I guess the double party she had with Brandy was just the first round. Good, cuz those tag along pictures were sad.
She also performed at her late birthday celebration. Come to think of it, do you think she had this party to save face? She turned 29 on February 11th, the same day as Brandy. Anyway she looked ok, considering it was her birthday party. She could have done it up real Hollywood style. Still not liking the hair. She probably gave up the wigs for the meantime since she hasn't been able to pull them off as of late.

SideBar: she performed with a stripper pole as her prop and was presented a cake with a Grammy on top. I'm not touching the grammy thing. I see someone forgot to shave her arms...

And If you look a couple of post down you'll see she went to Fashion week wearing the same thing...SMH

What Is Going On Girls???

The silents is killing me. Would someone tell me(facts) what is going on with Kelly, Michelle and Beyonce??? And though I didn't say anything about it then, there was a event recently that Kelly and Solange was at, and there were all sorts of pics taken and on the blogs, yet none of them with the two of them together. At one point it seemed like they were in the same area when the pics were being taken, and still no photos together...

So I'm over at NecoleBitchie and I see these pictures of Kelly Rowland's and Brandy's shared birthday party, and I can't help but to think,
WHAT THE HELL IS KELLY WEARING!!!!! I mean really Kelly.

The page loaded and I'm like, WTF!!!! She could have invited her edges alone to the party...

Now I do realize that most of my posts of Ms Kelly aren't the most positive post and I can be really hard on her sometimes, but that can hardly be my fault. She stepping out in ill fitting wigs, showing horrible fashion choices (at times), and her inconsistency in her live vocals are not something I can cover up no matter how much I love the girl.
Granted I'm willing to except that maybe while she was in Destiny's Child, her true image wasn't being shown, but really????
And maybe I could forgive her if it wasn't her birthday party for Pete's sake. The worst of it all is I'm looking at the comments and they are praising this mess. So that got me to thinking, do people hate Beyonce so much that they are willing to pit them against each other and blindly praise the underdog (Kelly) no matter what? Or are Kelly's fans just as delusional as Beyonce stans are?
I always feel the need to fall back and suggest that maybe I'm just being to hard on her, but I think I may have had enough of backing down.

Global star Kelly Rowland is currently wrapping up the recording process of her hotly anticipated third studio album; and That Grape Juice can EXCLUSIVELY confirm that the 28 year old singer has recently enlisted hit-maker Ne-Yo for the project. The ‘Miss Independent’ singer/songwriter joins the likes of Brian Kennedy, Jermaine Dupri, Bangladesh, Baby Face, Toby Gad, David Guetta, Rico Love, Jim Jonsin, Bryan-Michael Cox, Eric Hudson, and The Stereotypes, all of whom Rowland has worked with on the album.

As previously reported, the Destiny’s Child alumni is preparing to formally announce her new record deal with Universal Motown, home to the likes of Lil’ Wayne and Young Money, Akon, and Nelly.

Kelly And Nelly New Music

I'm going to try my best to be as positive as I can about this. I realize there is a possibility that I'm just tripping.
I'm just gonna put it out there the way I feel first, (but put it in parenthesis like I never said it)

(Kelly Rowland is a very talented young lady. She is beautiful and has been groomed for success. However her career is built on a double edged sword. One side of the sword is, she was apart of a hugely successful girl group that put her in the position that she' in today. The other side is, Beyonce, enough said. She will perform, sing, dance her heart out to the best of her ability and always be compared to her. And lets face it, Beyonce is a beast. Kelly's live vocal performance most times leave more to be desired, but you cannot deny her beautiful texture and tone of her voice. Her voice is best captured in the studio, and sounds great.)

But she has lastly resorted to a "new female in the game" mentalaty, and to be honest it's not a good look. She debuts along side a DJ, which name I won't mention(his head is big enough), like she was some back up singer. Let me try to explain what I mean. It was IMO like she forgot her impact in the game and allowed herself to be nothing more than a vocal prop.
And now she is taking video model roles and repeating her first collabo since their ‘Dilemma’ back in 2002. I see Kelly as such a bigger star, and it just bothers me to see her go this route.
You may not be as strong as far as live performances go, but Kelly you been in this game for a minute too!

Here is a remix for Mario's "Thinking of You" ft. Kelly Rowland I found. It's a ok song. Tho I don't see the point of Kelly getting on this track, maybe it's just me. Even the original never did anything for me. Not saying it's a bad song. But why put Kelly on it she didn't add anything to it.

Destiny's Child Rreunite For Lawsuit

Destiny's Child is reuniting, but it's not exactly a happy occasion. Just ask Kelly Rowland.

We hear the singer is furious that she and former DC cohorts Beyoncé and Michelle Williams have to head to Chicago on Tuesday to face a copyright-infringement lawsuit for their song "Cater 2 U." The reason for her anger, besides the obvious? According to a source, Rowland blames the legal mess on Beyoncé's father - and his tactics for lining his daughter's pockets with cash.

"Matthew [Knowles] has a long history of trying to get songwriters to add Beyoncé's name to songs she didn't compose, just so she gets publishing royalties," the insider says of Daddy Knowles, who managed the group. "That information eventually became widely known, and now anyone who wants to accuse Kelly or Destiny's Child of stealing material has ammunition to file a lawsuit. Kelly is livid."

Indeed, Beyoncé's songwriting credits have been publicly questioned several times. In 2006, for example, she declared she wrote the breakup anthem "Irreplaceable" "for [her] girls" - causing singer/songwriter Ne-Yo to angrily announce that he penned all the lyrics for the song, then got minimal help from Beyoncé on the melody. But even that may have been generous: Rumors swirled that B's composer credit was added only as a courtesy.

Adding fuel to the Rowland/Knowles fire: Kelly used to employ Matthew as her manager; she terminated him in January. "She and Beyoncé remained cordial at first," our source says. "But things have gotten tense since Kelly griped that Matthew is the cause of this lawsuit."

The proof? When Billboard mag recently saluted Beyoncé with a Woman of the Year award, Williams was on hand to fete her former cohort. Rowland was not.

"Kelly isn't happy having to fight these allegations," continues the source. "She feels as though this is just another mess that Matthew got them into while only trying to serve the sole interest of his daughter."

Kelly Rowland did not respond to calls for comment by deadline. Matthew Knowles would only say, "The lawsuit is questioning the validity of the writers involved. I am not a writer on this song."
