The Black Eyed Peas< took over Times Square in New York City Wednesday night (Mar 10) and performed a surprise concert in an effort to promote the launch of Samsung’s new 3D TV’s, which are available this week.
Though the concert wasn’t publicized, due to an NYC regulation that states that events in Times Square can’t be formally announced until 30 minutes prior to they’re scheduled to start, but Twitter and other forms of social media allowed the Peas to attract a crowd of around 10,000 people.
At first (tho it was hot), I wasn't really feelin it. It seemed like they were going to have this great storyline in the beginning. And by the time she got hit by the car I was hooked.
Then pulsating animals, and I'm like"Don't eff it up".
She gets up and looks at what I thought was some sort of emerald city, and I'm like "okay this could be hot".
Then came the performance shots and the storyline seem to had gotten dropped. And that's what disappointing to me. The robots were cool and all, but it was nothing spectacular or impressive(which is sad cuz that must have cost a lot to produce).
But then it picked up with the speaker gun things, and I was back on board. It had a Michael Jackson video feeling to it. The second song was only cool to me cuz they had explained it in the beginning, or I probably would have seen that as a bad auto tune knock off. I won't give it away, but by the end it all comes together. And the robots turn out to cool.
But the video wasn't bad, I enjoyed it. Maybe a hot dance breakdown would have been nice too.
