Kelis Does Promo Shoot
Check out the new Hollywood promotional picture for Kelis forthcoming album "Fleshtones". The "I Hate You So Much Right Now" singer has received a glowing endorsement from Black Eyed Peas front-man Will.i.am, who also signed her to his Will.i.Am Music Group imprint over at Interscope.
Speaking to VIBE and he said had this to say:
Her new single "Acapella"is not the business is not that bad of a song, and could grow on me easily, though I haven't heard it in the club yet. Which is a good and bad thing. The fact that I haven't heard it speaks volumes of it's popularity. However sometime a song that does nothing on the radio can translate in the club and take on a whole new life. And I'm sure if I heard it drunk in the club, I'd love it.
I'm feeling the weirdness of the picture, and let me tell you why. What Kelis did back in the day was weird, however now years later Rihanna seems to be doing the same thing and it seems edgy and high fashion. And now Kelis is gonna hopefully do it again. And working with Will can't hurt at all...

Speaking to VIBE and he said had this to say:
“Kelis has always been a best kept secret. The cool people know Kelis. But the majority of people just know ‘Milkshake.’ If Kelis were fashion she would be a girl’s favorite pair of shoes or a coat…high fashion. I would like Kelis to show she’s an international sensation. She can be big. A lot of people think big is being on the radio or that being big is having a show in London, France and sometimes Japan. But that ain’t international…that’s just three countries. The Black Eyed Peas are big; the Black Eyed Peas are international. I think Kelis can be that big. As big as the Peas.

Kelis New Album News

After giving fans her new single, “♫ Acapella,” late last month, Kelis has announced that her fifth album, Flesh Tones will be released next spring. Kelis had this to say,
“Originally I wanted to do something electro,” she told MTV News. “I kind of went through all these different phases of what I wanted it to be. In recording stuff, it kept changing. Finally it got to this really electronic, dance, really melodic vibe. Everything started to come in that space. I started to fall in love with it. It took a life unto itself. It wasn’t calculated. … All the stuff I fell in love with and stuff I was writing fell into that space. It’s sort of a new-age disco — futuristic disco.”

Kelis Got New Gig

Just a Hollywood side note:
Kelis was recently signed to Will.i.am's record label. That to me sounds like a solid move. His production and writing skills with her creativeness, swag and energy is gonna be hot. She was dropped from Jive Records in 2007 and this past year has been filled with joy and drama, so this is good news for the "Milkshake" singer. She had this to say,
"I can't wait to put out new music and spend time with real music fans on tour again."
Cool Kelis

New Music From Kelis..."Acapella"

Careful Rihanna, the woman you stole your fashion swag from is back. I'm just saying.
Kelis is back with a new joint called "Acapella". The track is more for dance heads than anything eles. Her core hip hop fans will have to wait for something they can bump to. I could hear it bump hard in a dance club though. It's produced by David Guetta,(the guy from Kelly Rowland's "When Love Takes Over")and will be featured on her fifth studio album, due out early next year. Other production include Burnz, DJ Ammo, Boys Noize, Diplo and Switch, and Free School.
